Physical Therapists

Mark Tulenko MPT, OCS, CSCS

Mark is the Owner and Director of Rehabilitation at Atlantic Sports and Rehabilitation Services. He started the practice in 1994. He is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He has worked closely with area Orthopaedic surgeons to develop post injury and post surgical treatment protocols for physical therapy intervention. He has special interest in treating patients with knee problems and back pain. In his off time, he enjoys tennis, fly fishing, travel, hiking and spending time with his wife and three children.

Debbie Oickle, PT, MHSc, OSC, MTC
Clinical Manager

Debbie had been with Atlantic Sports & Rehab since October of 2005. She is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist. She received her BS in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1992. She received her Master of Health Science from University of St. Augustine in 2003 with Specialization in Manual Therapy. She has taken many continuing education credits in all aspects of outpatient care and has achieved specialty certification in Manual Therapy. In addition, she also has special expertise in industrial medicine and industrial injury assessments. She is also certified as a Blankenship Functional Capacity Evaluator. Debbie is certified and licensed to perform Trigger Point Dry Needling. Debbie is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, mountain biking and skiing. She also has instructed dance and figure skating.

Stephanie VanLeeuwen, PT, DPT

Stephanie joined the Atlantic Sports & Rehab team in April 2013. She has achieved success in the treatment of various sports injuries including sprains and strains, pain or surgery of hip, knee and ankle, rotator cuff injuries, low back pain and neck pain. She enjoys utilizing various physical therapy interventions including manual therapy and exercise to personalize each person’s treatment to get them back to their lives as quickly as possible. Stephanie earned a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from Central Michigan University in 2005, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences from Grand Valley State University, MI in 2001. She has completed numerous continuing education courses including becoming Astym certified (scar tissue technique), advanced running injuries and evidence based cervical spine evaluation and treatment. She is originally from Michigan and spent some time in the Philadelphia suburbs. In her free time she likes to spend time with her husband and dog outdoors including biking and hiking. She also likes to scrapbook and make greeting cards.

Nikisha Gandhi, DPT

Nikisha (Niki) Gandhi earned a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Utica College in 2019, and a Master's Degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from CUNY in 2012. She has taken many continuing education courses where she has gained skills in manual therapy and exercises. She is certified to perform Trigger Point Dry Needling. She has years of experience in nursing homes, inpatient and outpatient. Niki enjoys spending her free time with her loving husband and their four year old son. She also likes to cook, travel, watch movies, and hike.

Heather Lampe, PT, DPT

Heather is a graduate of the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Temple University in 2012 and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Temple University in 2007 with distinctions such as the Rose Vernick Most Promising Performer Award and Presidential Scholar recipient. Formerly a professional dancer, Heather specializes in treatment of dancers and performing artists and has provided care for various Broadway productions in NYC such as Anything Goes, Mamma Mia, Memphis and more. Her background providing outpatient and home health physical therapy care for the past 10 years emphasizes a commitment for one-on-one individualized care. During treatment, she has a passion towards orthopedic rehabilitation with integrating myofascial release, manual therapy, Pilates and yoga. Recently, she relocated to Charlottesville with her husband and loves to explore the local trails with their dog and getting to know the Charlottesville community.

Jessica Bissinger, PT DPT ATC

Jessica worked for 8 years as an athletic trainer before deciding to pursue a career as a physical therapist. As an athletic trainer, Jessica worked at all collegiate levels. She has years of experience rehabilitating softball, soccer, track and tennis athletes to return to their sport. During her time in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at VCU, she participated in elective courses in pelvic health, sports physical therapy, and geriatrics. Jessica has treated a variety of patients of all ages and clinical areas including orthopedics, post-operative, sports medicine, running assessment, geriatrics, and pelvic health. She is enthusiastic about a patient-centered approach to physical therapy, remaining current on recent evidence, patient education, and facilitating patient autonomy. Outside of the clinic, Jessica enjoys playing guitar, reading, and spending time with her family.
